Six people have been arrested after allegedly trying to smuggle illegal drugs, anabolic steroids, knives and suspected stolen goods into the South Coast Correctional Centre in Nowra.

An operation with specialist officers from Shoalhaven Local Area Command and Corrective Services personnel targeted visitors to the prison early Saturday morning, conducting searches of more than 200 people and 50 vehicles.
Two motorists allegedly returned positive results for methylamphetamine after drivers were randomly drug tested. Seven other visitors were refused entry on security grounds.
Corrective Services NSW Acting Director of Custodial Corrections (South Region), Mr Ian Farquhar said they would continue to show no tolerance for contraband and would continue operations at Nowra in the future, and around the state.
