A BOMADERRY man accused of the attempted stabbing murder of another man in East Nowra on Thursday has been remanded in custody.

David Jamie Towne, 34, of Princes Highway, did not apply for bail during a brief mention of the matter in Nowra Local Court on Friday and it was formally refused.
Towne was arrested on Thursday morning following a police manhunt through the streets of Nowra.
He was charged with attempted murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, as well as a number of other domestic related offences, unrelated to Thursday morning’s incident.
Court documents state between 7.30am and 8am on Thursday in Nowra he wounded another man with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and did wound/cause grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.
The victim suffered a large wound to the neck.
He was taken to Shoalhaven District Hospital for emergency surgery to stem the bleeding and was airlifted to St George Hospital and was reported to be in a critical but stable condition.
Towne also faces unrelated charges, including two counts of assault, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, stalk/intimidate and destroy/damage property which allegedly occurred against a woman in Nowra between November 20 and 25.
Bail was not applied, with the matter relisted for Nowra Local court on Monday, November 30.
