A 28-YEAR-OLD Wollongong woman, who led police on a 20-minute pursuit in Nowra on October 3 which ended in a head-on accident on the Princes Highway has been charged.

The woman, from Woonona, has been charged with pursuit-not stop-drive recklessly and negligent driving.
The alleged pursuit started at 8.49pm after police noticed a silver Ford Laser leaving Kameruka Crescent, East Nowra without its headlights on.
The female driver lead police on a 22-minute pursuit which was terminated by officers when the driver crossed to the incorrect side of the Princes Highway, at Nowra near the intersection of Worrigee Street.
The vehicle travelled north in the southbound lane.
A short time later the woman’s vehicle collided head-on with a southbound vehicle on the highway near the Shoalhaven council building.
The woman suffered a fractured leg and other injuries and was taken to Shoalhaven District Hospital.
The other driver, a 61-year-old woman from North Nowra was taken to Shoalhaven hospital with minor injuries.
The wollongong woman has been issued with a court attendance notice and will appear in Nowra Local Court at a future date.
