Man appeals severity of sentence
A SANCTUARY Point man, who used a 30cm chef’s knife to intimidate a female at Sanctuary Point, has appealed the severity of his nine-month sentence.

Mark Joseph Richards, 47, of Auster Crescent pleaded guilty in Nowra Local Court before Magistrate Dr Gabriel Fleming on Wednesday with being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence.
Magistrate Fleming sentenced him to nine-months jail, starting October 7.
Richards appealed the severity of the sentence and was granted bail, with the matter to be heard in Nowra District Court on December 7.
A charge of stalk intimidate intend for physical harm were withdrawn and dismissed.
