A high rated player, Tony has just completed a three year term as president of Scrabble NSW, and popped in for a few games on his way through the South Coast.
It was monthly tournament day and Janelle’s three successes gave her a convincing win in Yellow Division. Sheila was second with two wins and May third with one.
Martin also had a clean sweep of three wins to take first place in Red Division, followed by Brenda with two wins and Faye with one.
Three players finished on two wins in Spotless Division so placings were decided on game scores. Lindy was declared the winner on 833 points, followed by Tony on 809 and Lexie on 747.
Jenny and Pam played a close game, Jenny winning by seven points. Both came up with unusual bingo words – Pam played ‘terroir’, a wine term, and Jenny put down ‘crusian’, a type of fish.
Bomaderry Scrabble Club members meet at the Bomaderry Bowling Club each Wednesday from 10:30am to 4:30pm and welcome new players of all levels.
