A 40-YEAR-OLD Oak Flats man, who pleaded guilty to a break-in at a service station in Berry in July and an attempted break-in at a Berry butchery, has been sentenced to two years jail.

Lee Jackson, of Wentworth Street, appeared in Nowra Local Court on Friday before Magistrate Dr Gabriel Fleming.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of larceny, break and entering a dwelling with intent, possessing house breaking implements and possessing implements to enter/drive conveyance.
Police said Jackson took part in a robbery at the Shell Service Station in Berry between 6.55am and 7.05am on July 16 in which cigarettes, tobacco and a mobile phone were stolen.
Police also allege between 7.15am and 7.20am on the same day he attempted to break into the rear of the Berry Butchery in Queen Street.
He also faced 16 counts of dishonestly obtain profit by deception, numerous charges of having goods in custody suspected of being stolen, possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit and with contravening an apprehended violence order.
Some charges stem from an alleged incident in Sydney, where police were called to a residence and when they searched Jackson they found two key cards and a Spotlight card in a woman’s name.
Officers later discovered the cards had been stolen from Gerringong on March 18.
A 35cm trench knife, which he claimed belonged to his girlfriend, was found in his backpack.
Magistrate Fleming considered all the charges and imposed an aggregate sentence of two-years jail from July 20, with a non-parole period of 18-months.
