Students around the country will sit their HSC English exams on Monday, October 12, with exams continuing until Wednesday, November 4. 

St John the Evangelist Catholic High School students, Danielle Parkes and Caitlin Gomes hit the Nowra Library this week to study and brainstorm survival techniques. 

“Everyone at school is pretty nervous, you only get one shot,” Caitlin said.

“The teachers have been really good though, especially with emailing back to questions over the holidays.”

While she’s feeling confident with her hospitality study, Caitlin said there’s one subject keeping her on edge.

“Biology just has so much content to learn,” she said. 

“I’m pretty stoked I got all the notes done for it but now I just have to try and remember it all.”

Once she gets through biology, Caitlin is looking forward to taking on a Bachelor of Commerce at the Shoalhaven campus. 

Danielle has also been packing the study in this week but said her Society and Culture studies have been challenging. 

“I just don’t feel like I know it as well as the others,” she said.

“My favourite would be Ancient History though because the content is really interesting.”

Caitlin plans to pack up the car and move to Sydney next year as she takes on film studies at the University of NSW.
