Members of the public are reminded not to leave their dogs in vehicles.
Interiors of vehicles can quickly heat up, causing an animal left in the car to perish from the heat.
Penalties exist under the Companion Animals Act and Crimes Act for related offences and police will prosecute people if considered appropriate.
