POLICE in the Shoalhaven have arrested a man and seized a gun, knives and drugs after stopping a car for a random breath test (RBT).

On Saturday morning, about 12.30am, police stopped a maroon Hyundai excel sedan for a random breath test (RBT), as part of Operation Slow Down on the Princes Highway, South Nowra.
After speaking to the driver, a 24-year-old male, officers searched the vehicle. Inside the car, police located a loaded shortened .22 calibre rifle and 40 grams of cannabis. They also found a number of knives taped to the man’s body.
The 24-year-old was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with numerous weapon, drug and traffic offences.
He has been refused bail and is scheduled to appear before Nowra Local Court again on Tuesday, October 6.
