From the beginning of the floods visitor numbers to the website were climbing faster than the Shoalhaven River water level.
It was clear our readers were going to be hungry for information.
Register journalists spent many hours on Tuesday and Wednesday covering the floods across the Shoalhaven.
As the rolling web coverage including, emergency updates, stories, photos, videos, social media and readers’ photos, began to build the public’s appetite for information grew with it.
Before last week, the most page views the South Coast Register had received in one day was 222,261. That record was smashed on Tuesday with 512,416 page views.
