That was the question Sanctuary Point woman Amanda Doyle asked on Thursday morning as she surveyed her damaged home on the southern side of The Park Drive.
With water still inside her house and a pumping system trying to remove it from her flooded backyard she admitted she didn’t know what to do next.
“This used to be the bottom level of my house. It is now a waterfront property,” she said.
“You wander in and out and look at it and then don’t know where to start.
“The water just flowed on through.”
She took us on a tour of her flooded home, using a broom to try and push water out, which was still in two lower bedrooms.
“How do you get all this out?” she asked.
“The water is everywhere.
“I’ve lived here three years and haven’t experienced flooding before.
“It came up quickly and we had no warning, which was a horrible thing.”
Her backyard was a sea of water.
“We found our big freezer over in the back corner,” she said.
“We had a Harley Davidson motorbike and a hot rod in the back shed but it was just too late to get them out.
“We had some sandbags but they just couldn’t stop the water.
“It’s just ruined everything.
“We had four pets out the back in cages, we tried to get access to some crates but we couldn’t, so they are living inside.”
She hoped the SES would turn up and help with some of the clean-up.
“We’ll have to throw a lot,” she said.
“We are one of the better ones, our neighbours have lost more. I think their caravan went down the creek.”
