“I took the kids to school at 8.30am. We had water out the backyard and got home a bit after 9am – by 10am it was all over the front of the road as well,” she said.
“It just came up so quickly. And it was really flowing.
“We got going and thankfully we got out when we did or we probably wouldn’t have got out.
“We have a five-month-old and we were down to our last tin of formula.
“We have lost everything downstairs and with water still in the lower level the SES has told us not to go back into the water.
“It looks like upstairs is OK.”
With her children she went and stayed with family at St Georges Basin and while checking on the outside of the property said she would have to wait for the water to subside before she could start the clean-up.
