They won the competition by a massive 12 points, which is biggest margin for many years.
Incredibly, they lost 3-nil to wooden spooners Huskisson and also had a 1-nil loss to Bomaderry, who were second last.
These are the only two games in the season they were kept scoreless.
United was also defeated 5-2 by Gerringong, who finished 10 points further back with five losses.
They lost to Shoalhaven Heads, Illaroo, Culburra and twice to United.
The first round meeting between these sides was a 1-nil win to United while the second round was also a 3-2 win to the Bears.
When these sides met in the third round, Gerringong blew United off the park to win convincingly 5-2.
The United attack should have Kaine Good and Jordan Haddow in place.
These two have struck up a good combination and are still improving.
Attempting to contain them should be the strong defence of Ben Dent, Robbie Franks, Jason Lockard and Gary Neimier, and in goal will be the very reliable Joel Lockard.
At the other end of the field the Gerringong side has the potent strike force of Brad Boardman and Jim Meimier.
Boardman has played at a much higher level and can’t be given an inch.
Like Gerringong, the United defence has also had a good year and will include Brett Ringland, Matt Fuz, Tom Moffatt and Matt Lewis, with James Spackman will be in goals.
Both sides have fantastic midfields and this could be where the game is won or lost.
Both sides will want to get on top in this area to provide chances for their strikers. The United midfield will be selected from Jason Button, Michael Binney, Josh Mackaness, Billy Wallington and Josh Argenti.
They should be up against Gerringong’s Andy Lockard, Alex Bayer, Gary Vian and Rod Kis.
Both sides should be at full strength and a fantastic game is expected.
Gerringong had little trouble in defeating United last time they met and if they can duplicate that form, they should be able to move straight through to the grand final.
