This will be the region’s second superhero festival with last year’s Berry event proving so popular the organisers decided to go Shoalhaven-wide.
Last year’s, which was called Berry Pop, was a wonderful effort for any first-time festival.
That event had a genuine Batmobile complete with the dark knight himself and loads of other characters.
Shoalhaven Superhero Festival organiser David Arakie said he started the festival for fun.
He said it was a way to test the waters to see if something bigger would float.
The concept was popular on a small scale so plans were immediately underway to go big for 2015.
Fun was the reason Mr Arakie started the festivals and that was exactly the vibe he achieved last year.
If the tremors being felt in the lead up to this year’s festival are anything to go by, it’s going to give the Gold Coast’s Supernova a run for its money.
“We are a new festival and are among many other well established and fantastic festivals and I hope it will continue to delight everyone and flourish,” he said.
“Everyone can relate to a superhero. My favourites are Superman and Batman. They do good things and they reminded me that people do good things,” Mr Arakie said.
So why not lighten up a little next month and get involved in what has the potential to be a very uplifting event throughout the region.
