Through Elite Energy, Mark Emerton has applied to change dates for two triathlons planned for Huskisson and Callala.
The Trihusky Triathlon Festival was planned for Sunday, November 1 this year. Mr Emerton has applied to change the date to Sunday, November 22.
Due to the popularity of the event a new distance has also been introduced, with an extended event schedule needed to allow for the additional race.
Called The Enforcer, the 400m swim, 15km ride and 4km run will be staged on the existing course.
It will mean the festival will run from 6am but instead of finishing at 4.30pm will continue until 6.30pm.
While there will be no athletes on the course after 4pm there will be event staff packing down the area.
There has also been a proposed change of date for the Callala Triathlon Festival from Saturday and Sunday, December 5-6 this year to December 12-13.
Due to the growth of this event the times will also change from 7am to 1pm to the extended 6am to 2pm.
Once again an Enforcer distance event is to be introduced, using the existing course layout.
Council has also received an application for the Noah’s Challenge Adventure Race to be held on Sunday, August 30 this year.
The event had previously been staged in July.
This year the event will expand to incorporate a local business challenge, The Noah’s ‘Business’ Challenge.
