TO read Andrew Humphreys waffle on about the ABC being somehow biased in their dealings with government ministers and male victims of domestic violence on the Q&A program (SCR Letters, July 27) was just so typical of a man with a right-wing agenda.

Q&A is the only forum where we, the public, can put questions directly to any one of the panel regardless of who they are.
The fact Abbott government ministers are incapable of answering questions put to them directly by the public should not be reflective of the rest of the panel.
Most people know the easy ride the Liberal Party gets with the likes of Alan Jones, Ray Hadley and The Daily Telegraph (i.e. Rupert Murdoch).
Alan Jones was caught up in the “cash for comment” scandal and Rupert Murdoch so badly did not want the NBN as this would severely impact on his print media sales, hence the aggression towards the Labor movement for investing in that technology.
Also, Mr Humphreys, males account for only one in 20 cases of domestic violence and that is why the focus was on women victims on that particular Q&A program.
I am sure that you, Mr Humphreys, would love to see a state-run ABC where Tony Abbott and the right wing could control the content to bolster public opinion in your favour.
The ABC has already had a warning shot across its bow with the defunding to the tune of $500 million by Mr Abbott in the last budget, and for this we should all be very concerned.
The ABC always remains bipartisan on its views that concern us all.
With all the rubbish on commercial TV and radio it is refreshing to turn to the ABC and get the real news.
