The Firefighter Championships is one of FRNSW's longest traditions, running for more than 100 years.
The championships, will be held at the Berry Showground and showcase the skills and expertise a modern firefighter uses every day, be it attacking a fire or responding to a major emergency.
Over the weekend, teams from around the state including Wyong, Broken Hill South, Ulladulla, Nowra, Dubbo, and 15 others will compete.
As the hosting brigade, on Thursday the Berry firefighters will teach about 400 local students about fire safety.
Children from Berry Primary School, two pre-schools and Havenlee school from will attend.
Berry retained firefifghter Ross Goodger said an Emergency services display will include Police, Ambulance, SES, Rural Fire Service, the detection dog from Fire and Rescue and the ladder platform from Wollongong.
