Beau was mentioned as one of the standout surfers.
However, Ethan Stocks (Korora) was unstoppable in the first round of the under-14 boys, locking in a massive heat total of 18.46 (out of a possible 20 points).
The powerful natural footer had his fellow competitors chasing a combination of scores to usurp him from the top tier position, which never eventuated in their favour.
As a result, Stocks cemented his spot into the second round, bypassing the requalification rounds.
Beau was one of several groms to post heat totals in excess of 13 points.
The competition continues today.
