“I am pleased to see the SARC has carefully considered all stakeholder feedback, including the feedback I provided, in its Draft Recommendations,” Mr Ward said.
“The proposed Business Adjustment Program will deliver greater certainty and security for NSW commercial fishers by linking shares with resource access where appropriate.
“Local constituents are urged to review the Draft Recommendations and make a submission to the SARC.
“No decisions have been made and this consultation is an important part of the process prior to the Government receiving final SARC recommendations later this year.
“The SARC process has been independent of Government and I am looking forward to helping our local commercial fishers participate in this round of targeted consultations,” Mr Ward said.
Bega MP Andrew Constance is also encouraging commercial fishers in the region to have a say on the draft recommendations.
The SARC has sent more information directly to fishers explaining the Draft Recommendations.
