It was an awesome weekend, with many triumphs, on many levels.
These gradings are the biggest and most professionally run on the South Coast. They are held at the end of each school term over a full weekend and are a culmination of the exercises and activities carried out during the term.
It is also a great opportunity for parents, family and friends of the students to come along and watch as the children proudly show off the new skills, great attitudes and confidence they continue to develop.
Kids must wear their full uniform for grading, though are allowed to wear their shorts and T-shirts over summer classes.
In the mini ninjas (2-3 year olds), the guys did so well, as each one stepped up individually and picked up some great skills, and were just plain cute.
This class is moving into its third term in Bomaderry.
The little ninjas (4-7 year olds) grading consists of a beginners group, and an advanced group.
This means the difficulty of each activity and technique can be increased easily, depending on the rank of that ninja.
All passed their grading and stepped up to new levels of confidence in all the skills tested.
The junior kick-defence (8-15 year olds) students all grade in their separate belt groups, one group following the other starting with the beginners through to the more advanced.
As students move up through their belts, they are expected to have a much greater knowledge and ability to perform the more difficult techniques, and be better able to apply that learning to different high pressure situations.
After each group has finished, photos are taken, belts and certificates are presented, and special medals are presented to stand out students, said head instructor Richard Neradil.
“Every grading I run, I feel a massive sense of pride, just watching kids achieving their own personal break throughs and seeing the new confidence gained is amazing,” he said.
“Also seeing a very noticeable step up in every grade is as it should be, is awesome to watch”
Classes will start back on July 14.
They welcome all new enrolments, and at any time throughout the term.
No previous experience is necessary, and the first two classes are free, with no payment contracts required to train.
There are also large family discounts on offer this term.
