Last weekend, they produced a sensational second half comeback to knock-off the tough Jamberoo Superoos.
But a couple of days later, in a make-up game, they lost to competition powerhouse Gerringong 42 to four.
Benney hopes his troops turn up the way they did in the second half against Jamberoo this weekend, instead of how they did mid-week.
“I’ve been saying this all year, on their day, anyone can beat anyone, so it is up to us to turn up,” Berry captain/coach Nathan Benney said.
“It’s up to us to turn and put effort in.
“We have had a good chat about mental side of the game and trying to prepare better.
“We also have to make sure we work better as a team.
“During the first half of the year, we have been guilty of working as individuals.
“I credit the guys for trying but it can be to the determent of the team at times.
“This has been a big focus for us in recent weeks and hopefully starts to sink in and we see changes this weekend.”
Kiama have only won once in their past three games, but Benney isn’t expecting an easy game, especially in Kiama.
“Our home form has been good lately, but we need to improve our performances on the road,” he said.
“We have a chance to fix that this weekend.”
