Kevin James Charleston, 27, of Freeman Parade, Mount Warrigal, appeared before Magistrate Geraldine Beattie on Tuesday.
He pleaded guilty to destroying/damaging property and resisting or hindering police in the execution of their duty but not guilty to assaulting police.
Court facts state between 3.30pm and 6.30pm on February 20 this year he recklessly damaged two pot plants, smashed a living room window and kicked in a roller door at a home at Bomaderry.
Police attended the home and spoke to Charleston, telling him he would be taken into custody and taken to the police station.
Police allege without warning he became aggressive and took up a boxing stance in front of officers, who called for backup.
He allegedly raised his fist towards one constable and was hit with a burst of capsicum spray.
Officers managed to take the man down, but he continued to kick out with his legs and thrash with his arms while trying to break free.
He was eventually subdued and handcuffed.
Magistrate Beattie adjourned the matters until August 18 for sentence.
