During the club’s extraordinary meeting on Sunday, 124 members voted in favour while 15 voted against.
“There has been a lot of talk among the members about the amalgamation,” Bomaderry Bowling Club secretary manager Garry Wilbraham said.
“This was the next step toward amalgamation.”
The RSL club lost $61,000 in the last five months.
During the same period the previous year it had lost $121,000 and by the end of December 2014 it had lost $284,000.
“We are budgeting for a loss of $133,000 by December so we are on track,” Mr Wilbraham said.
“The RSL building lease was the main thing we were concerned about.
“That lease stands until May 2016 and as long as we continue to pay rent to the RSL sub branch, they’re positive about the move.”
Mr Wilbraham said the remaining RSL club staff would join the bowling club after the amalgamation.
“The next step is for us to send a memorandum of understanding to the NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing.
“Once they sign off on it the RSL club will be put into liquidation and assets transferred to the bowling club,” Mr Wilbraham said.
