The hosts scored three goals early and the visitors never recovered, to record one of their toughest losses of the season.
Illaroo coach Andrew Timbs was understandable disappointed with his team’s showing, as it now leaves them outside the top four.
“We again got off to a slow start, which is something that we have discussed recently,” he said.
“In that time, Manyana managed to score three goals and our boys seemed to drop their heads after that.
“We had periods where we would create chances and go toe-to-toe with them.
“But just when it would seem that the boys were on a roll, we would concede another goal.
“To their credit, Manyana came out of the box on form and stuck with it for the rest of the game, to completely outplay us for the duration of the match.”
Timbs labeled it as a match to forget for his boys, who now have to re-group and set themselves for a home game against Bomaderry.
“The boys will move on from that match pretty quickly I assume, as we can’t dwell on it,” he said.
“One of the problem it seems with the boys, is that they can’t handle conceding goals.
“As we concede one goal, it seems to lead to more issues, as the game goes on.
“We need to work on our defence as whole, in particular our communication.
“Three of the goals could have been prevented if the boys and spoken to one-another.
“It was as simple as two guys going up for the same header, missing it and leaving their striker open for a runaway goal against our keeper.
“I know what the boys are capable of and they can do a lot better than we showed on Saturday.”
