The visiting Huskisson side opened the scoring after just four minutes through Alistair Kelsey.
United goal keeper James Spackman went up to claim a cross, fumbled the ball and it fell right to Kelsey, who tapped in the match’s opening goal.
The lead was short-lived, as United hit back just two minutes later through Josh Argenti.
He made a run down the left, cut back inside and calmly finished off his run, to level the scores.
Minutes after the scores were tied, United’s Jason Button was given a red card for a dangerous tackle.
But minutes later, Huskisson was also reduced to 10 men, when Kelsey was caught up in an altercation, and was also given his marching orders.
With both teams down to 10, United coach Trevor Skingle was happy with the way his troops responded.
“After the unbelievable start to the match, I thought our boys played well,” he said.
“Especially in the second half, we battered their goals and probably should have scored four or five goals.
“Huskisson seem to be our bogey side, so I was glad that we were able to get one over them.”
It wasn’t until the final minutes that United hit the lead, through Kaine Good.
This made it three weeks in a row, after losses to Heads and Culburra, that Huskisson has lost in the final few minutes.
“We deserved to win the game purely on the amount of shot we had,” Skingle said.
“A draw would have been an unfair result.
“It wasn’t that our forwards were wasteful, it was just that the bounce of the ball didn’t go our way for a lot of the match.
“I thought Allen Potter, Brett Ringland and Michael Binney had solid games for us and helped us secure the win.”
Skingle credited the official for the way he backed his own decision in the opening exchanges.
“Both red cards were contentious calls but I thought he made the right call,” he said.
“Everyone got on with it after that and I think he officiated the game very well all match.”
