They will search for their second straight win at the weekend, when they travel north to play the winless Port Kembla.
But captain Nathan Benney knows his team can’t take their rivals lightly, after digging so deep last weekend.
“It was definitely good to get win after a couple of rough rounds,” he said.
“Admittedly it wasn’t our best performance but we will take two points, as we need to start collecting wins.
“We started slow against Warilla, who did great jobof kicking into muddy corner of the Berry Showground, making it hard for us to work out of our own end.
“But we were much better in second half.
“We still lapsed in patches, which we need to address.
“Against the top sides, we can’t have those five to 10 minute lapses because they will punish us, like Shellharbour did two weeks ago.
Now that the monkey is off their backs, Benney believes his players will start to play more free and comfortable football.
“We need to be more consistent, play out sets, make high percentage plays and do the little things well,” he said.
“I thought forwards Bryce Rutherford, Josh Holland and Mitch Liddicoat were awesome last week.
“They all had great work rates and were aggressive on the footy.
“On the back of that, Josh Ingold started to show glimpses of his form last season.
“Following his injury, it had taken him some time to get his confidence back.
“But last week, he seems to be willing to take the line on and attack like I know he can.”
Despite sitting in last on the first grade ladder, Benney said that Port always present a tough challenge to his team.
“Port are struggling at the moment, still searching for their first win,” he said.
“That was us just last week, so we can’t take them lightly.
“We need to be switched on, as the win isn’t going to be handed to us.
“Based on previous experience, they always seem to give us a hard challenge on their home track.”
