It is the first time the Orient Point and Culburra Beach communities have held a combined reconciliation walk.
The community is invited to gather at the Crookhaven Sports Fields at 9am for the walk, which will finish at Culburra Public School.
Indigenous Australian professional rugby league footballer for the St George Illawarra Dragons Dylan Farrell is expected to take part in the walk.
Mr Farrell grew up in Orient Point and played for the local rugby league team.
On arrival at the school, participants will be able to take part in a number of activities and enjoy the entertainment provided by the students and other guests.
Walk co-ordinator and Culburra Public School Aboriginal education officer Clarrie Gibbs said he wanted to hold something small to bring the community together.
“The community was very keen to have an event out here, so we decided to do a walk.
“People are welcome to join us. There will be a barbecue and refreshments at the school.
“It’s the first one but it’s going be a yearly thing now,” he said.
Fellow organiser Ronald Carberry said Sorry Day was all about acknowledgement, acceptance, moving on.
“We’ve got to learn from our past,” he said.
“My dream is one day all Australians embrace Aboriginal culture as Australian culture, then we will truly be one nation.”
