A sole goal was enough to give the home side the win in a fiercely contested battle.
Mid way through the first half, Michael Hampton found a way through and slotted one into the back of the net to give his side the advantage.
Bomaderry held onto the lead for the remainder of the game with its defence was at the forefront of another strong performance, keeping a clean sheet.
Bomaderry coach Ben Foley said it was good to get back on the winners list in a match he thinks they deserved to win.
“We had a few chances and we were lucky enough to take one and hold onto it for the remainder of the match,” said Foley.
The Bomaderry coach said it’s important to take the points where you can in what is proving to be a tight competition.
“More goals would be preferable but I think we’re heading in the right direction at the moment,” said Foley.
Illaroo coach Andrew Timbs said the effort was there for his side but they didn’t capitalise on their chances.
“Our touch let us down… it often broke down any momentum we build up and we just didn’t create quality chances.
“Towards the end of the game we were peppering them in, looking for an equaliser but all in all they deserved to win,” said Timbs.
Timbs noted Jarvis Strand and Ryan Bray who had strong games in defence.
While for Bomaderry, Foley said Michael and David Hampton had good games up front and was full of praise for sweeper Blake Munilla.
“He’s a rock down back… he’s had a few good games and playing well,” said Foley.
With a weekend of double head fixtures coming up, Bomaderry will take on the top two sides, Manyana and Culburra while Illaroo will meet Huskisson and Heads.
