The dancers – Madi High, Amber Jackson, Mikayla Nangle and Jack Tuckerman – were selected to join the troupe of 10.
Amber Jackson from Berry saw the opportunity as a way to grow her skills in dance.
A 19-year-old and with eight years of dance behind her, she said this performance was like no other.
“I really like it, it’s different to what I’ve done before,” she said.
“It’s also different to what people see on TV, it’s more artistic, it’s very expressive.”
Michelle Forte is the artistic director of Austinmer Dance Theatre, a professional part-time company for 17 to 25-year-old contemporary dancers.
“The four promising Shoal-haven dancers successfully auditioned last October and are proving invaluable as we near production week.”
Performances will be held on Friday, May 29 at 8pm and Saturday, May 30 at the Phoenix Theatre in Austinmer at 2pm and 8pm. Visit phoenixtheatre.net.au for tickets.
