His funeral was held on Saturday at the Worrigee Lawn Cemetery.
Oliver’s parents, Jo-Anne and David, and siblings Jono, William and Kaylee from Mundamia will remember him as a brave and loving little boy.
The Shoalhaven community also got to know Oliver through the fundraising events held to support his family through the months of separation and costly treatment in Sydney.
“We would like to thank everyone who had been kind, genuine and selfless in their care, Mrs Tiyce said.
“Mostly family and friends who had provided their support.
“Ollie was a strong courageous little boy who taught everyone he came into contact with what love and life was all about.”
Oliver’s heartbreaking battle began on his fifth birthday, July 4, 2013.
He was diagnosed with the childhood cancer neuroblastoma.
A few days later his family was informed he had a rare gene called MYCN Amplify.
This meant instead of the cancer cells doubling they were multiplying by a factor of 10, making it an aggressive cancer.
Months of treatment followed with side effects that devastated Oliver’s body.
Then in September 2014 his family learned they would lose their son in the next 12 months.
His mother Jo-Ann wrote on the Ollie’s World fundraiser campaign website: “We will not give up and we will fight this horrible disease until the very end.
“Ollie is the bravest and toughest person I know and I know he will not go down without a fight, and we as a family will we be fighting with him.
“Thank you for your support and help, we greatly appreciate it as our little superhero is truly an amazing, beautiful, caring, loving little guy who touches everybody he comes across,” she wrote.
Last week on social media she wrote: “Monday afternoon heaven gained one of its most beautiful boys when our baby Ollie grew his wings. There are no words that can describe our heartache at this time. Ollie is and always will be our biggest hero, he fought until the very end.”
