A psychologist in Sydney's west has been charged with sexually assaulting a patient in his rooms.

The 69-year-old, who has an office in Station Street, Fairfield, indecently assaulted the woman during a session in 2012, police allege.
Police said the woman left the office and did not tell anyone about the alleged incident.
She returned to the psychologist in March last year and was allegedly assaulted again. She reported the matter to Liverpool police station.
On Thursday, the psychologist attended Fairfield police station where he was arrested.
Police charged him with aggravated indecent assault and aggravated sexual assault.
He was granted bail and is due to appear at Fairfield Local Court on June 29.
