The race day is filled with fashions, fun and eight races.
The feature race is the $30,000 Nowra Cup, with the other main race being the $20,000 Belle of the South for fillies and mares.
The club is expecting all races to be well supported and to provide some quality horses from well known trainers including many of our local trainers, as well as those from Kembla Grange and Sydney.
Sunday will also see the final day of the Telstra Business Centre Nowra's Autumn Racing Carnival Premiership for jockeys and trainers.
Both winners will receive $1000 cash and the winning jockey will also be awarded the inaugural Nathan Berry Trophy.
The trophy is to honour jockey Nathan Berry, who passed away suddenly last year.
In his early days of riding, Nathan often rode at Nowra and the club felt it was fitting to acknowledge him by awarding this trophy.
Current leaders in the jockey's premiership are Chad Lever and Robbie Brewer both on 30 points, closely followed by Winona Costin on 26 and Scott Pollard and Adrian Layt both on 24 points.
The trainer's premiership is also closely contested with Sam Kavanagh on 28 points, followed by Greg Hickman on 24 points, local trainer Terry Robinson on 20 points and Bede Murray on 16 points.
All those on course will have the opportunity to win a three day P&O cruise thanks to My Travel Expert Nowra and P&O. This is the secnd year this prize has been offered and the club feels it is a great promotion.
Names will be drawn throughout the day with six people being in the running to win this great prize towards the end of the day.
Fashions on the field will offer those entering the chance to share in $10,000 worth of prizes.
The club will hold four categories and all entrants must be over 18 years of age to enter.
The categories are fashionable filly (18-35), glamorous lady (over 35), coolest couple and magnificent millinery.
This year the club is lucky to have a very experienced judge, who has been part of the Myer judging panel in Tasmania for their fashions.
Many local businesses have provided vouchers and prizes for the fashion stakes.
In addition to this, the club is offering spectators a share in $1000 worth of prizes thanks to Stockland Nowra and Bare Beauty.
Entrants must live locally, have purchased their outfit from participating stores or have purchased a product or treatment from Bare Beauty or Spirals Hair salon.
Once again entrants must be over 18, have proof of purchase and live locally.
Special guests on the day will be James and Anthony from the Village Vets Australia off Foxtels Lifestyle Channel.
The popular duo will assist with the judging of the fashions and presentations to winning connections of the races.
The Girls Day Out has been running since 2003 and has grown each year due to the support from Geoff and Kirsty O'Connell and the team at the Kinghorn Motor Group.
The Shoalhaven City Turf Club is looking forward to not only a great day of racing but providing a fantastic day out for the local community and visitors to the area.
They have some great packages available and also encourage patrons to come along and sit on the lawn and just enjoy the racing and many other activities on the day.
