Brian Cadd, Joe Camilleri, Kate Ceberano, Glenn Shorrock and special guest Wilbur Wilde will be performing their best hits.
With songs such as Hit & Run, A Little Ray of Sunshine, Help Is On Its Way and Pash – fans will be in for a treat with a solo set of hits from each performer, followed by an extraordinary finale with all entertainers sharing the stage.
Kate Ceberano has been Australia’s high priestess of pop, an award-winning jazz singer, wears the hat of a fine artistic director as well as writes her own songs.
A woman widely respected across various mediums, Ceberano started out in the music industry when she was 14.
“I was always interested in the stage and performing and to be honest I always thought that I’d get more into acting. I wasn’t a very academic person and one day my auntie said to me, ‘You should go on Search for a Star,’ which was the ‘70s version of Australian Idol,” Kate said.
“I was 14 and ended up winning. I started working in the industry from the age of 15 and would be doing three or four gigs a week. I was the youngest of four and very independent,” she says.
During her early days in the Australian music scene it was strong female artists like Chrissie Amphlett and Suzi Quatro who inspired her.
“When I was 16 the band I was in opened for Chrissie Amphlett and I remember sitting in the wings watching her and thinking she’s just so beautiful. She was a very magnetic performer and I wanted to be just like her,” she says.
Now as Kate nears her 50th birthday, she’s 48 this year, she is excited to be included in the APIA Good Times tour alongside musicians she has admired.
“I feel so honoured to be included on this tour. I am a real fan of all of these iconic musicians and it feels very special to be included in the tribe.”
