Ms Quinton’s best friend and neighbour Trina James is leading the appeal, which will include a barefoot bowls day on Saturday, May 23.
Ms James said the couple’s home was insured, but that would not cover the trauma of losing their family home and prized possessions.
She said any funds raised would help ease the couple’s immediate burden.
“With insurance companies it could be months,” Ms James said.
“The funds are really just for day-to-day living - they’ve maxed their credit cards buying food and new clothes, so hopefully we can raise a bit of money just to make them stress a little less.
“If I can help them pay off their credit cards, I know they can bank on those credit cards for the next six months.”
People have generously offered goods and items, but the couple is staying in furnished accommodation and cannot store them.
The Tomakin Sports and Social Club, where Ms Quinton works part-time, has got behind the couple and will host the charity bowls day on Saturday, May 23.
Cash donations can be made at the Tomakin Sports and Social Club.
Businesses who would like to make donations for the raffle should contact Ms James on 0400 199 130.
