A 26-YEAR-OLD Fairy Meadow man who led police on a pursuit through Nowra and Worrigee in the early hours of Wednesday morning before crashing his car into a power pole on Greenwell Point Road has been sentenced to 20 months jail.

Ross Dolan, of Lila Avenue, Fairy Meadow appeared before Magistrate Doug Dick in Nowra Local Court on Friday.
He had previously appeared before Magistrate Dr Gabriel Fleming on Wednesday and was refused bail.
Dolan pleaded guilty to police pursuit not stop drive reckless, Skye’s Law and with never being licensed.
On the police pursuit charge he was sentenced to 20 months jail, with 12 months non-parole period starting August 28 and on the never being licensed charge he was sentenced to 12 months with a non-parole period of nine months to be served concurrently.
Police tried to the stop a red Ford Falcon Dolan was driving between 1.45am and 1.50am on Wednesday on Kalandar Street in Nowra for a random breath test.
Dolan allegedly failed to stop with police initiating a pursuit.
The vehicle reached speeds of 100km/hr in 50km and 60km zones and continued along Greenwell Point Road to just east of the Ex-Servicemen’s Sports Club at Worrigee, where it left the road and struck a power pole, snapping it just above ground level, cutting power to the area.
Dolan ran from the vehicle and was arrested by police after short foot pursuit.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene and transported to Shoalhaven Hospital for treatment for a leg fracture.
Power to surrounding homes was lost due to the crash.
Endeavour Energy crews replaced the power pole, with power restored and Greenwell Point Road reopened to traffic around 10.30am Wednesday.
Donnelley Civil teams directed traffic through Worrigee around the crash location while the Greenwell Point Road was closed.
Dolan was also sentenced to a four month fixed jail term after pleading guilty to charges of dealing with property suspected of being the proceeds of crime and larceny following incidents at Wollongong and Warrawong on April 23 and 28 this year.
