More than 1500 people descended on Shoalhaven Heads Memorial Park for the service, which commemorated the centenary of the Gallipoli landing.
After a community march the guests were welcomed by Shoalhaven Heads RSL Sub-Branch president Max Flohr, before Padre Mark Howard gave the opening address, hymn and Prayer of Thanksgiving.
The special address was made by Rear Admiral Neil Ralph OA, who reminded us all to emulate the admirable qualities of Australia’s Diggers.
A special mention was made of the large number of Shoalhaven Heads Public School students who marched in the parade and attended the service.
Community members packed the Shoalhaven Heads Bowling Club after the service for a free breakfast.
