The 24-year-old was nominated to be part of the team that will style hair for the contestants on this year’s season of Channel Nine’s The Voice.
Hollie said she was ecstatic to work on the show for a second year in a row.
“I work closely with KMS and Goldwell in Sydney and they have opportunities for you to be involved in this sort of work,” she said.
“Last year I worked right up until the grand finale. It was so much fun and we do get to watch from the stands nearby.
“All hands are on deck for the live shows, we work until crunch time. At first, it was really intense but once you get to know how the producers work it becomes like a big family.”
At Fashion Week, Hollie worked with Steven Khalil, Jennifer Kate, Ixiah and Galanni models before they hit the catwalk.
“It was frantic, chaos from the word go,” she said.
“The nerves really hit on the morning of the show.
“The first show we were doing a sleek do with small braids to the back. At first we were working steadily and making sure they were perfect, then they came in to tell us we had nine minutes to go before the show started and we still had 20 models to go.”
Hollie said her many years of show horse preparations made her the quickest at braiding.
“So that was my job,” she said.
“The models were going into the next show too with a completely different style so it was pretty crazy getting it all done with video crews and everyone running around in a room about the size of a shoebox.
“The time flew by. I had always wanted to work on something like Fashion Week so I was really gob-smacked when I got there.”
Hollie said she would continue to strive for jobs on television programs and fashion shows so she could bring new ideas and styles back home to her Nowra salon.
