I AM sick of a somewhat newish traffic phenomenon I call “road reptiles”.

After moving to the Jervis Bay area I have discovered this weird and ridiculous behaviour occurring more often. Drivers are sitting on around 80-90km/h on the road until a overtaking lane turns up and they are suddenly doing 120km/h. Then when almost no one has got past them they slow back down to the 80-90km/h speed again. By this time they have backed up traffic with over a dozen vehicles following them, and yet again when overtaking lanes arrive they take off like rabbits to limit how many can overtake them.
I have been a driver for a long time but had never seen this before. Cars always used to stick to the same speed allowing faster traffic to overtake without needing to break the speed limit. It was a common courtesy that seems to have disappeared. Now the drivers are trying to cause road rage incidents, by being as obnoxious as possible.
