At 1.45am Saturday, police saw the driver of a white ute turn onto the Princes Highway from Illaroo Road against a red light.
They stopped the car, spoke to the driver and arrested him when he failed a breath test.
The man was taken to Nowra Police Station where his breath analysis was .122.
Police suspended his licence and charged him with mid range drink-driving.
He will appear in Nowra Local Court at a future date.
