Last weekend was the designated goblet weekend and many club members caught good numbers and a variety of fish.
A swell of two metres, a three-knot current and winds up to 20km/h didn’t deter keen club members.
Gavin Robinson won the men’s outside division with a snapper weighing 2.06kg and Rodney Federer won the men’s lake and estuary division with a 4.115kg mulloway.
Only three of 45 fish caught were of the pigfish variety and Bruce Kennedy won the goblet with a catch weighing 590 grams.
Ross Parker won the men’s rock and beach with a 1.365kg salmon and Federer took out the mystery weight with his 550-gram blackfish.
Janine Suthern was the only women’s angler who won a prize and she collected the ladies’ lake and estuary with a 330-gram mullet.
The weigh in was held at the Tuross Head Country Club and members enjoyed the afternoon although the Turkey Award went begging.
