Rough conditions featured on the preceding two days and although it had settled a little, the swell discouraged fishos from working the rocks.
A couple of members did make it out and were rewarded with a great run of pan-sized snapper, morwong and flathead.
The three fish out of the bag were pigfish, whiting and blackfish and each were reeled in.
Paul Wright collected the pigfish prize and the whiting and blackfish prizes went to the ever-popular Dale Evans.
The rock, beach and estuary prize went to Sam Chambers with a commendable silver drummer of 1.55kg.
The blue water prize went to Trevor Brown, who caught a nice 2.13kg bonito which also gave him the senior cock-o-the-walk award.
The junior cock-o-the-walk was again Scott Rigby.
He is certainly showing a clean pair of heels to the rest of the junior field.
On Saturday, it will be the club’s Patron’s Day sponsored by Patron Harry Brooks.
The Tomakin Sports and Social Club encourages all internal club members to compete and cash prizes will be available for the top performers from each club.
All challenge rounds have to be completed by the early afternoon which means all fish to be weighed in have to be in the compound by 1pm.
So until then keep those rods held high and those lines tight.
Good Fishing
