In their home opener, the Jets went down 30-28, starting their title defence with a loss.
The Jets will go in search of their first win of the season when they travel to Michael Cronin Oval to take on the Gerringong Lions.
Gerringong on the other hand got their year off to a strong start, defeating the Berry Magpies 36-20 on the road.
Gerringong will have a big crowd on hand at the match, with this being their home opener, which also coincides with the club launching their centenary book.
But Jets star Steve Brandon knows that his team will be up to the challenge and rebound from last weekend’s defeat.
"Last weekend’s loss was a tough one to swallow, but I’m sure we can bounce back from it after a solid week at training this week, he said.
“We have spoken about working on our general discipline, which killed us last week.
“We can’t afford to give Gerringong piggy backs down field like we did against Milton Ulladulla.
“Fixing that will be key because we don’t want to let teams back into the game on the back of our mistakes.”
Brandon admits the task is a tough one though, with the Lions always a strong opponent on their home track.
“Gerringong are always a tough match-up, especially in front of their home fans,” he said.
“The biggest thing for us is relaxing and not letting the pressure of being last year’s premiers get the better of us.
“Because of last season, people are expecting us to hit the ground running.
“But at the end of the day, we just need to let our footy do the talking.
“If we can get that whole expectation out of our heads and go bck to playing our free-flowing footy, we will be right.”
