It has been a busy few weeks for the Mariners as they have gone on a signing frenzy securing the services of several players for the 2015 Illawarra Baseball League season.
In first grade the Colour Sensations Shoalhaven Mariners will be quietly confident of throwing a massive curveball to the league as they face the defending premiers.
Coach BJ Lentell this week secured US import Taylor Jockers to join the Mariners.
Jockers spent the past summer with the ACT Eagles in Canberra after a standout four years in the United States college system.
Jockers will be joined by Australian Junior representative Cameron Tilly.
Tilly is a catcher with a strong bat hitting several home runs at the recent national championships.
Murray Lugg will anchor the outfield for Shoalhaven.
Lugg was another standout at the recent nationals - hitting just under 400 for the tournament.
In second grade, the North Nowra Butchery Shoalhaven Mariners have beefed up their stocks with Joel and Kieran Gray.
The Gray brothers have joined the Mariners this year after outstanding seasons playing cricket.
In Kieran's first game of baseball his bases-clearing double gave Shoalhaven a massive push against Kiama.
The third grade Ewing Electrical Mariners have been a stand out, leading the competition after two rounds and remaining undefeated.
Their biggest test will be against the Pirates.
The exciting news comes in the debuts of Stewart Graff and Lachlan Butfield.
Graff joins baseball after a solid cricket season and his big hits have been a highlight at the team's practice sessions.
Butfield joins his older brother and father in Mariners' white.
The three are excited to take the field together and continue the strong tradition of family at Shoalhaven Baseball.
All games will be played on Shoalhaven Baseball Field at Ison Park, South Nowra.
Third grade gets under way at 9.30am, second grade is scheduled for 11.45am and the main games starts at 2pm.
The Legacy of Entrepreneurs Shoalhaven Baseball would like to thank all their great sponsors for the 2015 season.
