A Kangaroo Valley property owner called police around 5.15pm on Wednesday afternoon after hearing the cries.
Police and ambulance services searched the area around Budderoo National Park on Wednesday night but found nothing.
Police continued to search the national park on Thursday along with the SES, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Ambulance and the Polair helicopter.
No one in the local area was reported missing.
Police called off the search on Thursday afternoon following a thorough search of the area.
