After almost a year in hospital and another year of rehab as an outpatient, Luke is still learning how to walk and communicates using sign language with his right hand.
He is on a mission to help others with brain injuries by raising money for new equipment and a total rehab gym makeover at the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit at Liverpool Hospital.
On April 22 he will ride with a small support crew 180km from Nowra Private Hospital to Liverpool Hospital’s Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit to raise money for new equipment.
A fundraising event was held at the Cooee Hotel in Island Point Road, St Georges Basin on Saturday.
There was a short ride to Basin View and return in the morning, followed by a day of activities which ended with raffles, auctions and entertainment during the afternoon and evening.
