A fundraiser was held at the school for the 2015 Relay For Life group Team Loving Lachlan.
Students made a small donation to dress as their favourite superhero and raised $512.
The money will go towards Cancer Council’s research and support services.
Lachlan’s teacher Lee-Anne deRoo said she was exceptionally proud of the school and community’s efforts.
“As a teacher you wouldn't even know Lachlan was going through anything,” she said.
“He is just fabulous.
“The small fundraisers are ways for the children to get behind the cause. They have fun and express themselves.”
Team Loving Lachlan captain Gabrielle Heanes said hope and colour was the main theme of the event.
“We will run a fun family stall. There will be glowing balls, Lego guessing competitions, balloons, lucky dip prizes donated from generous local businesses and much more.”
A National Rugby League St George Illawarra Dragons signed singlet was also raffled at the stall.
Toni Hodges, a St Michael’s student’s parent, said the school sent a message of hope.
“The kids pray for Lachlan everyday.”
Team Loving Lachlan's superhero spirits were sky-high on Saturday, March 28 at the Nowra Showground for the annual Relay For Life.
