On Saturday night I was at the Blessing of the Fleet Ball in Ulladulla where 34 young women and their partners were presented to the Captain of HMAS Albatross.

They were very well presented young men and women and we have every reason to feel very proud of them.
Sunday started with the Black Dog Ride, in which over 275 riders were registered to go from Nowra to Batemans Bay.
There were bikes galore (how I wish I had gone as well). The ride took place to raise funds for suicide prevention and Lifeline.
Well done Paul and team, it was great fun for a great cause with many visitors riding as well.
In the afternoon it was the Regional Netball Champion-ships at the courts near St John’s High School.
Forty-four teams from regional areas both north and south competed for the title.
What a great sight to see so many young people enjoying their sport and again with so many visitors to the area.
To Kathy and your team it was a tremendous effort. To our council staff, thank you from all concerned on a terrific effort to have the courts ready to play.
It was certainly recognised and appreciated.
J. Gash,
Shoalhaven Mayor.
