Nowra Showground will once again host the event, with the opening ceremony on Saturday, March 28 at 9.15am.
The relay will run through to 10am Sunday.
HMAS Albatross will again have a number of teams taking part in the relay, with 723, 725 and 808 squadrons all entering teams.
It is the fifth time the 723 Squadron Taipans have entered a team in the relay which has already raised just over $4000.
This year, the Taipans have set themselves the goal of raising $7000 and believe they will achieve that with a trivia night, which is open to anyone, planned for Thursday, April 16 at the Bomaderry Bowling Club.
Tickets for the trivia night are $10 presale or $15 on the night.
The Taipans already sit on the local relay fundraising leader board, with organiser Mary Millgate, who this year will take part in her eighth relay event, also in the top three individual participants fundraising leader board with $770.
“I lost my father and aunt to cancer,” she said.
“It’s just such a dreadful disease. Anything we can do to make those breakthroughs achievable and get closer to a world without cancer I’m compelled to do what it takes.
“You wouldn’t believe it but most of the money I’ve raised has been from sales of jams, pickles and chutneys. It’s amazing how $3 for a jar here and $4 for a jar there adds up so quickly.”
Ms Millgate said she also had great success with raffle tickets and will take her special jams to the relay as well.
“The relay is the most special event I have ever experienced,” she said.
“The community spirit is almost palpable. The candlelight ceremony of hope on dusk is always a moving and heart-warming occasion.
“Candles are lit and put in sand bags around the whole lap of the showground oval and people write messages to a person they have lost to cancer.”
It is still not too late to register to take part in this year’s relay, with registrations costing $20 per person and taken from 7.30am Saturday.
