The 38-year-old was first pulled over in his red Hyundai Elantra shortly after 11am, for driving with an expired licence, police said. He was driving westbound on the M4 at Erskine Park.
Not long after, he was again stopped, this time on the Great Western Highway at Lapstone just before midday - in addition to more expired licence infringements, he was also stopped for speeding, police said.
Less than an hour later, he was in police custody - taken to Springwood Police Station after a third alleged driving incident, this time at Blaxland. The man was charged with driving with an expired licence and two counts of disobeying police direction. He was granted bail and will appear at Katoomba Local Court on Monday, April 20.
Assistant Commissioner John Hartler, the Commander of the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, was quick to point out the dangers that unlicensed drivers pose to New South Wales roads.
"If you don't have a valid licence, you cannot drive... Driving unlicensed is not only illegal, it is incredibly dangerous.
"We are committed to tracking down and charging anyone who thinks they can flout the road-rules, and encourage members of the community to contact Crime Stoppers if they know or suspect someone is driving without a licence."
