Melbourne-born Morgan Stanley chairman and chief executive officer James Gorman got to his feet before a heavyweight gathering of University of Melbourne business school alumni on Monday night with a brief to talk about his path to the top, and lessons learned on the way. The one that surprised the crowd most was that management is more likely to do damage to a company than good.
